New Hope Initiative

Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone, located in far West Africa, is home to the Karen Baird Children's Home and orphanage. The home was established in 2009 by Pastor Francis Rogers along with New Hope Initiative.  There are 72 children ages 2 years to young adult.  The children are given all of the basic necessities – food, clothing, clean water – as well as a Christian education, medical care and Biblical training. The project is run by Phil d'Entremont (the project director) and Francis Rogers (the children's home director) to bring hope, health, education, and safety to the children of Moribatown.

What We Do

This project rescues children living on the streets and gives them hope.  Pastor Francis, his wife Agnes, Director Phil d'Entremont (pictured), and other staff give these children a loving home with God as the center.  They know everything they are given comes from their Heavenly Father. Because of the generous donations of supporters, the children receive:

  • Two meals a day of nutritional food
  • Clothing/shoes/material needs

  • Education

  • Clean water

  • Medical care

  • A loving home and a bed to sleep in

  • Staff to take care of the children and the grounds

  • Peace of mind

Solar Power Project

Because of our amazing supporters, we were able to have a solar system installed.  This system provides power for the children's home, Logo's Christian Academy, and Pastor Roger's home.  This gift has improved the lives of the kids in the children's home, and also the community.
